Khunamokwst Park is located in Portland’s Cully Neighborhood. The park’s diverse play areas have a distinctive blend of traditional and nature-based play with swings, prefabricated climbing boulders, a play water feature, and a universally accessible play structure. Learning Landscapes joined local landscape architect GreenWorks PC to work with a group of neighborhood kids through the design process. The students learned about landscape architecture and design professions while helping shape their park. The design centered around an embankment and signature douglas Fir Tree. The park also includes a picnic shelter with an eco roof, 3000 square foot skatedot, and a large open lawn.
